Metro Toronto Convention Centre
The Metro Toronto Convention Centre (MTCC) has introduced a suite of sustainable meeting solutions, including green electricity, waste diversion, locally sourced menus, carbon offsetting, community donations and paper-less options.
For instance, meeting and event planners can take advantage of low-impact renewable energy that’s injected into the electricity grid to match the equivalent power used by the event.
Additionally, planners can divert waste generated by their events from landfill, ensuring leftover material is reused, donated or recycled. On the edible front, organizers can choose locally sourced food and beverages.
MTCC also provides tools to calculate the carbon footprint of an event and connect them with third parties to offset it.
Furthermore, delegates and exhibitors can now access important conference materials and programmes onsite wirelessly, through their PDAs or laptop computers.
