The Miami Airport Convention Center (MACC), formerly known as the Miami Mart Exhibition Center, has finished the first phase of its $12-million modernization project of the venue,located in in a top U.S. meeting venue.

The refurbishment gutted the conference-venue building and re-built the interior from scratch.

Featuring 172,000 sq. ft. meeting space, the technologically up-to-date convention facility can host large special events in its new 29,000-sq.-ft. ballroom and can also accommodate over 400 trade-show booths.

The 334-room DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel, which is attached to the MACC, has also undergone a major phase of renovations recently, including the addition of new guest elevators, the remodelling of guestrooms with new vanities, the addition of 37-inch HD LCD TVs and a new complimentary high-speed Internet system.

Renovations also include a new signature restaurant, lounge and lobby, as well as all new public areas.
