A multi-million dollar meeting space renovation has been completed at the Miami Marriott Biscayne Bay.
According to the property’s general manager David Cesario, all 20,000 square feet of the hotel’s flexible event space, including 23 meeting rooms, 1 9,860-sq.-ft. Grand Ballroom and the 2,500-sq.-ft Bayview Ballroom, was involved in the three-month renovation project.
The renovation encompassed new floor and wall coverings and new lighting in each of the spaces, new furniture, a new state-of-the-art audio/visual system, and new high-speed wireless Internet. In addition, the elevators in the meeting area were refurbished and the escalators completely replaced. Eco-friendly aspects of the meeting space renovation include LED lighting throughout the meeting space as well as “Smart Sensor” technology on the escalators, a energy conservation device that slows escalators down when not in use.
The meeting space renovation at the Miami Marriott Biscayne Bay ties in with Marriott Hotels’ goal to re-imagine traditional meeting spaces to meet a growing demand for more inspiring and creative work environments.
“The new generations of travelers and meeting participants work different than previous generations and, as such, we need to introduce spaces that promote collaborative work environments,” explains Cesario.
