MPI Foundation Raises Record Amount at IMEX

The Meeting Professionals International (MPI) Foundation has set a new record, raising more than $335,000 USD during IMEX America, which ran October 13-15, 2015 in Las Vegas.

The money was generated from an industry leaders wine auction as well as through ticket sales, bungalow and cabana sponsorships and the support of host sponsors Caesars Entertainment and the IMEX Group for Rendezvous, the IMEX America Night. (NOTE: The MPI Foundation did not host the wine auction or offer cabana and bungalow sponsorships during IMEX America in 2014.)

Rendezvous 2015 was held on October 14th at Drai’s, the indoor/outdoor club located on the rooftop of The Cromwell, a Caesars Entertainment property. It drew more than 2,000 people in attendance—an increase of 25 percent over 2014 when the event drew 1,600 attendees and raised $190,000 in ticket sales.

The MPI Foundation Wine Auction was held the evening of October 11th at The Wheelhouse at The LINQ, and was an invitation-only event for MPI and MPI Foundation leaders and volunteers.

The MPI Foundation is a not-for-profit organization that provides professional development and career opportunities to MPI members through grants and scholarships. It is propels the meeting and event industry forward by funding important and quality research initiatives.
