Meeting Professionals International’s (MPI) redesigned member magazine, The Meeting Professional™, took top honours in the Monthly Trade Association Magazine category in Association TRENDS’ 2013 All-Media Contest.
The TRENDS All-Media Contest is an annual competition held exclusively for associations, recognizing the most creative and effective communication vehicles developed in the industry over the prior year. The 2013 competition included a record 467 entries in 22 categories of association communications.
Following extensive face-to-face meetings with MPI members around the world, The Meeting Professional was relaunched this year with a more member-focused format and layout. It now highlights more content on MPI members with added white space and shortened stories. In addition, an MPI member now graces the magazine’s cover each issue.
“We couldn’t be more honoured to be recognized as the best association trade magazine of the year,” said David Baslet, editor-in-chief of The Meeting Professional. “We launched The Meeting Professional back in August, with the promise that it had been redesigned for our members, by our members. Being a member-driven association, it was important to us that our redesigned magazine be a strong reflection of the voice of MPI’s diverse membership.”
MPI will receive its gold award at the 35th Annual Salute to Association Excellence, being held February 20, 2014, at the Capital Hilton in Washington, D.C.
