MPI Toronto and BMO Partner in New Chef's Table Initiative to Benefit Scott Mission

The MPI Toronto Chapter Signature Series committee has partnered with the International Association of Conference Centres (IACC) to bring its members the Battle of the Iron Chef Smackdown on WednesdayFebruary 5, 2014. The event is also open to non-members.
In addition, The BMO Institute for Learning (IFL) has teamed up with the Meeting Professionals International’s (MPI) ECOS Committee (Toronto Chapter) to engage in a brand new Chef’s Table initiative. While Chapter members will be witnessing the IACC Copper Skillet Competition at the February Signature Series event – held on February 5th – the IFL will be donating 250 complete meals, prepared by their culinary team, and delivered to the Scott Mission the day before.
At the Battle of the Iron Chef Smackdown, chefs will first participate in the “Canadian Conference Centre Chef of the Year” event at the BMO Institute for Learning in Toronto. At this Iron Chef style competition they will be required to create an entree using contents from a mystery basket within a 30 minute time period. An independent panel of judges will evaluate the entrees according to set criteria. The Canadian champion will join the other winning chefs from around the world for the international competition at the IACC-Americas Annual Conference in March 2014 in Los Angeles.
