MPI Toronto Hands out Awards

Meeting Professionals International (MPI) Toronto Chapter handed out its annual awards at a March 7 ceremony held at the Hilton Toronto.

Rachel Stark, Ryerson University, received the 2012 Norm Neill Student of the Year Award.

Shannan Scott, Meridican Incentive Consultants, won the 2012 New Member of the Year Award.

Adam Bussell, CMP, Four Seasons Hotel Toronto, won the 2012 Literary Award, which recognizes members who have written articles in the past year for Meeting magazine. His article, ‘Food City, F&B Trends in TO,’ provided insight into the new chefs arriving in Toronto.

Danyelle MacCulloch, Tourism Toronto, won 2012 Outstanding Volunteer of the Year.

Also winning 2012 Outstanding Volunteer of the Year was Darryl Neilson, Toronto Congress Centre.

Geoff Mak, CEM, CMP, Direct Energy Centre & Allstream Centre, at Toronto’s Exhibition Place, won 2012 Supplier Member of the Year.

Christine Gruber, BA, CMP, Ontario Real Estate Association, won 2012 Planner Member of the Year.

Leslie Wright, vice-president, Fletcher Wright Associates Inc., won the President’s Award, presented for outstanding contribution to the meetings industry and to MPI Toronto Chapter.

A member of MPI for 25 years, Wright has served as the MPI Toronto Chapter’s executive director since 1992.
