Armando Arruda, Fairmont The Queen Elizabeth, and Alison Silcoff, of Alison Silcoff Events, accept the Special Event Award.

Alison Silcoff Events Inc. won two Special Event Gala Awards, for Best Event Produced for a Non-Profit Organization, and Best Decor, announced at an awards ceremony held Jan. 18, in Chicago.

“We are extremely honoured to have received this recognition from such a respected organization, especially as we were competing against outstanding international companies in our industry,” said company president Alison Silcoff. “This distinction further motivates our entire team to continue providing clients with unique concepts, along with the highest standards of event presentation.”

The awards recognized an Alice in Wonderland theme at the 2012 Daffodil Ball, the Canadian Cancer Society’s annual fundraising gala, in Montreal.

The 2012 Daffodil Ball garnered a third Gala Award, in the category of Best Catered Event Produced by a Hotel Banquet Department, won by Montreal’s Fairmont The Queen Elizabeth.
