The half-billion-dollar, multi-level, mixed-use Nova Centre, currently under construction in the heart of Halifax, will include a convention centre and luxury hotel.
Set to open in January, 2016, the development will offer about 120,000 sq. ft. of rental space, plus pre-function areas.
“The opening will allow the city to host larger conferences up to 3,000 delegates and hold multiple smaller conferences simultaneously,” says Scott Ferguson, president and CEO of Halifax’s Trade Centre Limited.
“What will make us most unique,” he adds, “is that the centre is being integrated into the downtown core and community.”
In addition to the conference facility, the Nova Centre will also incorporate a 300 to 350-room luxury hotel, office, retail and residential space, plus an 18,000-sq.-ft. plaza for events.
