JW Marriott Desert Springs.
During the last five years, Palm Springs, Cal., has undergone a revitalization totalling “hundreds of millions” of dollars spent to upgrade more than a dozen properties, according to a news release.
A few of the more significant undertakings include a $25-million renovation of the 884-room JW Marriott Desert Springs Resort & Spa; a transformation and renaming of the 530-room Hyatt Regency Indian Wells Resort & Spa; and, following a $10-million upgrade, the former Holiday Inn has been rebranded The Saguaro Palm Springs, with its 249 refreshed guestrooms.
The latest project, says Visit Palm Springs director of communications Mark Graves, is the $43-million Museum Market Plaza.
Proposed for the downtown core, the new venue will include shops, restaurants, space for private functions and an outdoor plaza, with walkways to local museums and the Palm Springs Convention Centre.
Completion is set for the second quarter of 2014.
