Porter Airlines announced today that it has introduced electronic ticketing for travel agencies.
Effective immediately, the electronic ticketing will be initially available to Sabre GDS travel agencies in North America through ARC and BSP. Amadeus and Travelport compatibility will follow later this year.
Porter will continue to process reservations on both an Instant Purchase and E-Ticket basis. Agency partners will have a choice of maintaining their instant purchase approach, or converting to E-Ticketing. Commission payment for E-Tickets on Porter will continue to be paid directly to the agency on flown volume and not at point of sale (POS) via ARC or BSP.
In the coming months, the airline will launch a conversion to commission payments from BSP and ARC, plus migration of payment basis from flown revenue to booked revenue.
“Porter has defined itself with customers by focusing on innovation and service, and emphasizing premium amenities at no added cost to the customer,” said Michael Deluce, executive vice-president and chief commercial officer at Porter Airlines. “E-ticketing allows us to enhance the travel agent experience by providing a more seamless experience for them.”
