Portland Marriott Downtown Renovates Ballroom

PORTLAND, OR. — Portland Marriott Downtown Waterfront completed a renovation to its Oregon ballroom, it was announced earlier this year.

As one of the final pieces in the hotel’s overall renovation, which included new guestrooms, an M Club Lounge and fitness centre refresh, the redesign of the 14,144-square-foot ballroom encompassed a new look for the 3,000-square-foot foyer, which features two built-in registration desks. Allowing creative theatre-style setups are the ballroom’s flexible furnishings.

In addition, the renovation incorporated a contemporary palette into the ballroom and reflects Portland in such design touches as carpeting with a bike tire design representing the city’s love for two-wheeled transportation. Portland is a buzzworthy destination and groups who want to take advantage of this ‘hot’ locale wan do so at a property that works hard to provide attendees with a Purely Portland experience.

Elsewhere, the bicycle theme is represented in bike artwork in guestrooms, bike tires on the walls of the new M club, bike rentals for hotel guests and bike storage in select guestrooms

To mark the newly unveiled ballroom, the hotel is featuring a special group offer: Groups who book a 2016 meeting by June 30 will receive a complimentary Purely Portland Coffee Break featuring Portland favourites VooDoo Doughnuts and Stumptown Coffee.

Located on the banks of the Willamette River, the 506-room Portland Downtown Marriott offers view of Mount Hood and is within walking distance of top downtown attractions. The Energy Star-certified property houses an onsite restaurant, Bistro by Truss, dishing up cuisine with an artisanal flair; a 24-hour fitness centre; and more than 44,000 square feet of flexible meeting space.

With 50 hotels and resorts in nearly 60 countries, Marriott is transforming itself for mobile and global travellers, featuring innovations such as the Greatroom Lobby, Future of Meetings and Mobile Guest Services. All hotels particpate in the Marriott Rewards freuqnet travel program that allows members to earn hotel points or airline miles for every dollar spent during each stay.
