Bringing yoga off the mat and into your next event is easier than you think! Corporate yoga is a new way of including the yoga experience within your meeting and event, without having your group feel like they need to rush to the showers.

In fact, adding yoga to a meeting or event is the newest trend in innovative team-building activities and meeting experiences.

Yoga is fun, interactive and inspiring for those trying it for the first time, or for the experienced yogis in the group. > Read More

How to Choose a Hotel Spa

In February, I was in Vancouver, setting up one of our new spa locations at the Delta Vancouver Airport. Talk about Olympic rush! Everywhere was a sea of red, with the Coca-Cola group wearing bright-red uniforms creatively made from recycled plastic Coke bottles.

The arrival of the U.S. athletes and organizers just added to the hotel’s Olympic fever. As the hotel guests first arrived and took their initial tours, there was a sigh of “spa relief” on their faces, with an expression of “aaah!” upon seeing our tranquil spa environment.

How better to capture a moment for themselves during their downtime than knowing their massage was just an elevator ride away?

Spa Dudes Welcome!

Break free from the stereotype that spa treatments are just for women. Today’s men understand the business edge of taking their personal care to the next level, creating a bolder expression as the Modern Urban Man.

As I was event-organizing for our client HRG, they expressed hesitancy in adding a spa component to their conference, uncertain of the interest level it would generate among male attendees.

The organizing team decided, “let’s go for it” and we tailored a spa buffet experience during the day’s 90-minute lunch break. On the menu: great food and fabulous mini-manicures, blackberry hand massages, chair massages and chair yoga.

Our plan not only worked, it created a buzz of energy and positive feedback that thrilled the organizing team. More than 40 per cent of spa participants were men, who walked away from their treatments feeling fantastic…and let everyone know it. > Read More

Make Your Next Event ‘Spa-licious’

Over the last 10 years, the evolution of the spa and wellness industry has seen a cumulative growth of over 300 per cent. In Canada, the industry has not come close to reaching its full potential.

This tells us that today’s consumers are in need of decreasing stress and maintaining a positive state of mind. As a result, the “spa enthusiast” has arrived and is here to stay!

When planning an event, conference or meeting, a common goal is to create a memorable experience for everyone. By adding a spa component, you not only create an unforgettable experience, but leave your delegates wanting more.

Adding spa and wellness treatments can be simple. Spa treatments are appropriate for both men and women and can be incorporated into any event or meeting.

For its part, the spa industry is accustomed to catering to group needs and understands your corporate culture and philosophies. Prior to adding spa and wellness features, make sure you choose a spa company that is experienced in working with groups.

To begin the planning process, start by deciding if you want a venue that already has a spa facility or whether you prefer to have the spa come to you.

Second, knowing your budget for spa activities and the amount of time that will be scheduled for the spa within your meeting agenda will allow your spa coordinator to identify your needs and make appropriate suggestions for your event. > Read More
