Quebec City Convention Centre
The Quebec City Convention Centre has announced a 69,000-sq.-ft. expansion to improve access and offer more meeting space and pre-conference activity options.
Plans call for the facility to overhaul current facilities and acquire part of an adjacent shopping mall.
“This expansion will give us a greater ability to accommodate visitors, which is the key to winning convention business,” says convention centre CEO P.-Michel Bouchard. “We can also host more events simultaneously and thus profit from the growing demand in the thriving meetings industry.”
Currently, the Quebec City convention venue features 232,000 sq. ft. of useable space, including 100,000 sq. ft. of exhibition space, 62,600 sq. ft. of pre-meeting space and 35,000 sq. ft. available for meetings.
Budgeted at $36-million, the expansion is expected to begin by fall 2012.
