Fairmont Peace Hotel, in Shanghai, has reopened following a comprehensive restoration undertaken after the property’s closure in 2007.
Located on the Bund, the revitalized hotel offers 270 guestrooms and suites, along with six restaurants and lounges.
Meeting and event planners can choose from guestrooms featuring 1930s period flourishes and 37-inch plasma stereo TV, Blu-ray DVD player and wireless and broadband Internet with ‘plug-and-play’ connectivity.
Also on-site are the Jazz Bar, signature Chinese restaurant Dragon Phoenix and The Cathay Room, offering views of the Bund from its ninth-floor terrace.
The eighth floor hosts the Peace Hall, featuring a sprung-wooden dance floor.
A new extension to the building will house a sky-lit swimming pool and a Willow Stream Spa. The Nine Nations Suites will remain, while a new presidential suite will occupy the tenth-floor penthouse.
