Poolside at Rosewood Mayakoba.
The 128-suite Rosewood Mayakoba, on Mexico’s Riviera Maya, has reopened following a four-week closure to complete a $1.6-million renovation.
Included in the refurbishment are the addition of 18 plush, connecting suites reconfigured from existing accommodations; the upgrading of artwork and furnishings; a makeover of the resort’s dining venues; and the remodelling and expansion of the gym.
Also included in the project are two newly created positions: culture concierge and stargazing storyteller.
The Culture Concierge helps planners arrange off-the-beaten-path activities, as well as day-tours with prominent archaeologists and historians.
Unique to the resort, an on-property biologist is available to lead educational eco-tours exploring the property’s lagoons and mangroves.
For planners wishing to incorporate a spa option, the 17,000-sq.-ft. Sense, A Rosewood Spa, is situated on a lush private island and offers a range of Maya-inspired treatments.
Rosewood Mayakoba is also home to a signature Greg Norman 7,000-yard, 18-hole golf course.
