Saint-Hyacinthe Holiday Inn to Open as Quebec's First LEED-Certified Property

A Holiday Inn Express and Suites will open in 2010 in Saint-Hyacinthe, Que., the first hotel in Quebec built to meet the criteria of the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Rating System.

The 94-room property will include a diligent recycling system, hybrid-car parking lots and showers for employees who cycle to work.

On-site, there will be 1,500 sq. ft. of meeting space and 32 king business class suites.

Located 30 minutes from Montreal, the 94-room hotel will be part of the new ‘M’ Lifestyle Centre, in Saint-Hyacinthe.

Planned as the shopping destination for the surrounding region, the lifestyle centre will include restaurants, shopping, a public market, houses and apartments.

The first stage is slated to open in late 2009.
