Convention Facilities: There are no dedicated convention facilities, but a number of hotels offer meeting space. Best bets include Enchantment Resort, Hilton Sedona Resort, L’Auberge de Sedona, Best Western Inn of Sedona, Poco Diablo Resort, Sedona Rouge Hotel & Spa and Sedona Super 8.

Getting There: Closest major hub is Sky Harbor Airport, in Phoenix, from which Sedona is 130 miles (a two-hour drive) north. US Airways flies direct to Phoenix from Calgary and Vancouver. United Airlines and Air Canada fly direct from Calgary and Toronto.

From Sky Harbor Airport, ground-transportation options include Sedona-Phoenix Shuttle; Sedona Sedans (928-203-9300); and White Tie Transportation.

Pillow Talk

Nestled in 22 landscaped acres with a nine-hole executive golf course, Poco Diablo Resort offers 137 newly refurbished rooms. Conference facilities include eight meeting rooms, totalling 8,500 sq. ft.

In fall, 2009, Enchantment Resort unveiled a $4-million upgrade that added 7,000 sq. ft. of meeting and event space. The reno enhanced meeting rooms and added an outdoor banquet area of over 20,000 sq. ft.

Last summer, L’Auberge de Sedona completed a $25-million renovation, which introduced 1,200-sq.-ft., one-bedroom hillside cottages and added a spa and spa cottages. Totalling 3,500 sq. ft., meeting facilities feature four indoor and four outdoor venues.

Pink Jeep Tours leads off-road adventure excursions (Broken Arrow, Ancient Ruin and Valley of Fire tours) exploring Sedona’s scenic red-rock country.

A Day in the West’s most-popular outing includes a two-hour jeep tour and a 1.5-hour horseback ride (including creek crossings), and ends at the Blazin’ M Ranch, for a chuckwagon supper and live western stage show.

Modelled after a Mexican village, Tlaquepaque Arts & Crafts Village features art galleries, specialty shops and restaurants clustered around tiled courtyards ideal for receptions.

Barking Frog Grille dishes up Southwestern favourites in dining rooms that exude a casually elegant vibe. Enjoy the little extras, such as tableside guacamole service.

Cucina Rustica specializes in hearty Italian and Mediterranean fare in a comfy, Old World setting. Outdoor patio, too.
