TORONTO — Sheraton Centre Toronto’s executive chef Paul Paboudjian announced on July 28 the appointment of Alex Shterenberg as executive sous chef.

In this position, he will be responsible for overseeing the culinary team, including sous and banquet chefs at the 1,372 room hotel in downtown Toronto.

Most recently, Shterenberg held the position of executive chef at Sheraton Gateway Hotel in Toronto International Airport. In this role he was responsible for the operation of the culinary and stewarding operations at the hotel. His culinary career with Starwood Hotels began as an apprentice at The Westin Prince Hotel in Toronto. He received culinary training in Switzerland and Russia before returning to Canada, and has held several positions including commis, chef de partie and senior sous chef at The Westin Harbour Castle, in downtown Toronto.

“I am thrilled to be joining the culinary team at Sheraton Centre Toronto,” said Shterenberg. “I look forward to the opportunity to collaborate with chef Paboudjian and the talented culinary team to take the food and beverage offerings to new heights.”
