The Titanic Signature Project, a tourist attraction commemorating the ill-fated ocean liner, is planned to open in Belfast, Ireland, in March, 2012.
To be located at the head of the Titanic Slipways, where the Titanic and her sister ships were built, the attraction will include a Titanic-themed, 750-seat banqueting suite, and The Titanic Experience – an interactive exhibit covering the ship’s origins, construction, launch and fatal maiden voyage.
Visitors will travel over a giant 50-metre model of the Titanic under construction. Using the latest technology in simulation and cinematic projection technology, visitors will be ‘flown over’ Belfast and Northern Ireland.
A planned community arts facility will host temporary exhibitions, performances and conferences, aimed at meeting and event planners.
Plans also call for three hotels on the site, including a 111-room property featuring spa facilities, swimming pool and gym.
