Toronto-based locavore food store Culinarium offers cooking classes using strictly Ontario ingredients.
Lovin’ Livin’ Local Cooking School offers hands-on classes themed on, for example, meats and vegetables. Running two- and three hours, those classes require each group to make two to three dishes using the featured ingredient.
Hands-on courses are also offered in pickling, canning, preserving and sausage- and pasta-making.
The school also features tasting classes – for example, beer, port or scotch and cheese.
Hands-on classes can accommodate up to 10; tastings, 12 to 24. For tastings for corporate or team-building groups larger than 24 and organized by meeting and event planners, Culinarium partners with a local restaurant.
Classes are being offered through December, after which Culinarium’s owners and staff will re-assess the programme.
