Exhibition Place in Toronto has launched a new GREENSmart promotion showcasing 12 energy efficient initiatives across its 192-acre site. The campaign includes information posters on outdoor waste receptacles for visitors and participants in its Environmental Walking Tour.
An initiative of the award-winning GREENSmart program at Exhibition Place, the initiative showcases:
- wind turbine
- urban forestry
- geothermal project
- solar power
- LED lighting
- green roofs
- cool roofs
- back pressure steam turbine
- innovation centre
- LEED Silver certified AllStream Centre
Through the GREENSmart program, Exhibition Place diverted 5,816,182 kg. of waste (83%) in 2012 alone, and has reduced its use of grid electricity by 55,840,241 kWh since 2005.
