Toronto's Four Luxury Spas

BY ANNE DIMON

There was a time when Toronto could not compete for executive groups wanting a luxury spa experience, but that was yesterday. Here, in order of their opening, are the top four upscale, full-service spas, all beautifully appointed and ready to accommodate groups in the downtown core.

Spa My Blend by Clarins at Ritz Carlton Toronto offers 13,000 square feet of space incorporating 16 treatment rooms. The spa showpiece is the large co-ed space with a collection of seating arrangements, dramatic ceiling sculpture and a terrace overlooking Roy Thomson Hall.

Marble, crystal and black leather set a glamour theme at Trump Toronto’s Quartz Crystal Spa. Fifteen thousand square feet of space including ten treatment rooms, salon and mani/pedi areas offers a layout and spaciousness allowing for private events for up to 30 people. A private lounge for men features a bar fridge and a plasma screen TV.

At the Shangri-La Toronto, Miraj Hammam Spa by Caudalie Paris Shangri-La is the only spa of the four that brings an international feel to the Toronto spa scene. France meets Morocco. Vinotherapy pairs with the Middle Eastern hammam. There are nine treatment rooms including two spacious hammams accommodating up to five people.

At 30,000 square feet and with 17 treatment rooms plus a separate salon and nail area, the largest of the four is the elegant Spa at the Four Seasons. Along with a state of the art gym and yoga studio, the spa takes over the entire 9th floor of the Yorkville property.  Staff can handle up to 300 services in one day.
