Michael Hunter, the new chef de cuisine at Scarpetta Toronto.
Scarpetta restaurant, in the Thompson Toronto hotel, has named Michael Hunter chef de cuisine.
Hunter has worked at other notable Toronto restaurants, including Sassafraz, where he worked as sous chef for four years, and Oliver & Bonacini’s Luma, in the Bell Lightbox.
Recently, Scarpetta Toronto introduced a new fall menu, with such autumn-appropriate dishes as cavatelle pasta with wild-boar sausage, romano beans and swiss chard, and glazed Yorkshire pork chop with yams.
Globally, noted New York restaurateur Scott Conant is Scarpetta’s executive chef. Scarpetta restaurants operate in New York, Toronto, Las Vegas, Beverly Hills, Calif., and Miami Beach.
