Tourism Vancouver Names New Board

Tourism Vancouver has announced its 2011/2012 board of directors, representing a cross-section of Metro Vancouver’s tourism industry.

Tourism Vancouver has announced its 2011/2012 board of directors, representing a cross-section of Metro Vancouver’s tourism industry.

The new Tourism Vancouver board includes Howard Jang, executive director, Arts Club Theatre Company; James Terry, executive vice-president, Rocky Mountaineer (past chair); George Bartel, president and CEO, Vancouver All Terrain Adventures; Carolyn Bauer, general manager, Yellow Cab Company; Ken Cretney, general manager, Vancouver Convention Centre; Larry Donen, chief brand steward, jamjar; Nicholas Gandossi, general manager, Opus Hotel Vancouver.

Also named to the board were R. Gordon Johnson, regional vice-president and general manager, Delta Hotels & Resorts; Bob Lindsay, owner/operator, Monk McQueens Fresh Seafood & Oyster Bars and LIFT Bar Grill View; Jonas Melin, general manager, Inn at False Creek – Quality Hotel Downtown Vancouver; Sue Roberts, managing director, CongressWorld Conferences Inc.; Robert Safrata, owner, West Coast Sightseeing/Grayline; John Sandor, general manager, Sutton Place Hotel; Dennis Skulsky, president and CEO, B.C. Lions Football Club; and Marion Harper Treskin, general manager, The Westin Grand Vancouver.

Tourism Vancouver’s board is responsible for policy issues, and for ensuring the organization’s business and market development plans, along with corresponding financial plans, are developed, endorsed and monitored.
