The Golden Gate Hotel & Casino, founded in 1906 in Las Vegas, is undergoing its first major expansion in 50 years.
Plans call for the landmark property in downtown Las Vegas to add a 35,000-sq.-ft., five-storey luxury tower with 16 hotel suites, including two penthouses that will cover the entire fifth floor.
An extended casino floor and new high-limit gaming pit will feature the hotel’s signature dancing dealers. A new lobby will display artifacts from the hotel’s storied past.
In addition, the Golden Gate will preserve its historic exterior, while adding contemporary pinstripe lighting accents.
As part of the renovations, the new tower will feature a porte-cochere designed to provide valet parking.
Moreover, the Golden Gate also vows to preserve its famous shrimp cocktail.
Renovations are scheduled for completion by July.
