The Eco Lodge at Wakefield Mill.
By Anne Dimon
The Wakefield Mill Hotel & Spa, in the quaint town of Wakefield, Que., a 35-minute drive from downtown Ottawa, has partnered with Summit Training and Frontier Team Building to design programs for corporate groups.
Colin Bunge, the company’s Ottawa-based program manager, says it offers a dozen different indoor and outdoor programs, everything from a wine-tasting challenge to a simulated search-and-rescue.
The 40-room, riverfront Wakefield Mill, located right inside Gatineau Park, can accommodate 40 people for multi-day programs and up to 100 for off-site meals or day programs.
Meeting spaces ranges from the historic MacLaren House, with its two meeting rooms, to the ultra-contemporary, LEED-certified Pearson Hall, a multi-function room with flexible furnishings for customized configurations.
Powered with all the latest technology, Pearson Hall opened last year at part of the new Eco River Lodge.
The new lodge also includes a private Eco Spa accommodating groups of 10 for simultaneous treatments.
