Washington, D.C., city council approved the public-financing component for development of a 1,167-room convention-centre headquarters hotel, across the street from the Walter E. Washington Convention Centre.
Quadrangle Development Corp., based in Washington, D.C., a top U.S. meeting place, will develop the $537-million U.S., four-star Marriott Marquis business meeting facility project, expected to break ground this fall and be completed by early 2013.
