Water Therapy: Canada’s Big Three

The pool area at Le Nordik Spa

By Anne Dimon

Taking-the-waters for health and wellness dates back to Roman Times, perhaps earlier. While the concept is, by comparison, relatively new in North America, it continues to gain popularity.

All within easy access of popular meeting and/or incentive destinations, here are three of Canada’s best spots for water therapy to work into programs, to offer as an optional activity or to enjoy during leisure hours:

Nordik Spa Nature in the village of Chelsea, Quebec, a 15-minute drive from downtown Ottawa offers 145,000 sq. ft. of indoor and outdoor space making it the largest water therapy spa in North America.

Near the Village of Tremblant, Quebec, Scandinave Spa Mont-Tremblant is the oldest and until recently the largest of Quebec’s Nordic-style spas. The collection of pools, saunas, steam rooms and hot tubs are spread around a multi-terraced, riverside lot.

Located just north of Whistler and embraced by mountain vistas, Scandinave Spa Whistler (sister spa to Mont-Tremblant) is an excellent venue to pair with skiing or offer as an alternative activity.
