Meeting Professionals International (MPI) has redesigned their World Education Congress (WEC), which will take place in Orlando, FL, July 23-26.
New marketplace features and educational experiences are among some of the changes made to the three-day event, in response to the changing needs of meeting and event professionals.
WEC 2011 will say goodbye to the traditional tradeshow in favour of marketplace experiences that promote personal conversations between suppliers and planners. MPI hopes to facilitate this connection through scheduled business appointments, including the WEC Hosted Buyer Program, for qualified planners to meet with suppliers in a one-on-one setting focused on pending business; and WEC Buyer Connect, a free option that enables planners who do not participate in the Hosted Buyer Program to schedule appointments with Hosted Buyer suppliers.
Two new networking experiences include The Blitz, an interactive environment created by venues and destinations; and the MarketSquare, a business marketplace that runs the length of the show.
Registration for WEC 2011 is now open.
