WestJet has launched new daily non-stop service from Calgary International Airport to New York (JFK) and Prince George, British Columbia. The inaugural flights departed on Monday.
“John F. Kennedy International Airport is the busiest international passenger gateway in the United States and a hub for our U.S. partners, American Airlines and Delta Air Lines,” said John Weatherill, WestJet’s Director, Network and Schedule Planning. “With our WestJet code on some 17 flights from JFK, this new daily non-stop service from Calgary offers Canadians low fares and our remarkable guest experience to even more destinations around the world.”
Effective April 27, 2014 to October 25, 2014, the airline will fly from Calgary to New York daily, departing at 10:35 a.m. and arriving at JFK at 5:00 p.m. It will depart JFK to return to Calgary at 5:55 p.m. The new route also means easier access to Manhattan via AirTrain JFK.
The Calgary-Prince George service is also effective April 27 to October 25, 2014. The flight will depart Calgary at 10:00 p.m. MST and arrive in Prince George at 10:27 p.m. PST. The return flight will depart Prince George at 6:00 a.m.
“Prince George is one of WestJet’s early destinations and we are very grateful for the strong support of northern British Columbians over the past 15 years,” said John Weatherill. “Residents have asked for additional service and starting today, our guests will have the opportunity to take an early-morning, 90-minute flight to Calgary and connect to 27 destinations throughout the WestJet world. Whether heading south for a business meeting or a week-long vacation, we’re very pleased to offer our Prince George guests more connectivity than ever before.”
