WestJet is resuming Alberta-Hawaii flights.
WestJet will provide non-stop, daytime service between Calgary and Honolulu and Maui, and between Edmonton and Maui, beginning Dec. 15 and continuing through April 22, 2012, pending regulatory approval.
To accommodate these flights, WestJet has leased a Boeing 757-200 from Thomas Cook Airlines.
Flights from Calgary to Honolulu (and return to Calgary) take place once a week, on Friday. Calgary to Maui occurs three times weekly (Monday, Thursday, Sunday) and Maui to Calgary is also thrice weekly, Wednesday, Thursday Sunday.
Edmonton to Maui flights occur twice weekly (Wednesday, Sunday) and Maui to Edmonton is also twice a week (Tuesday, Saturday).
“Leasing this aircraft will allow us to extend our non-stop service to more guests than ever before,” said Hugh Dunleavy, WestJet’s executive vice-president, strategy and planning.
