WestJet Ups Service from Calgary to Sun Destinations


WestJet has launched new non-stop service from Calgary to Huatulco, Mexico, and is adding new non-stop flights from Calgary to Liberia, Costa Rica, which begins this Saturday.

With these new services, WestJet will operate 109 daily departures to 47 destinations from Calgary International Airport this winter, an increase of 12 and 17 per cent respectively over last winter. The airline now offers non-stop service from Calgary to 26 Canadian, 10 U.S. and 11 international destinations.

Calgary remains WestJet’s home and a major hub, offering Canadians non-stop service to nearly half of its expanding domestic, transborder and international networks,” said John Weatherill, WestJet Director, Network and Schedule Planning. “New non-stop flights to Huatulco and Liberia increase the choices for travellers looking for low fares, high value and our remarkable guest experience and caring, people-driven service.”

The new service to Huatulco, the carrier’s 10th destination in Mexico, operates twice weekly. The new service to Liberia is available four times a week.

WestJet’s 2015 winter schedule also contains a number of new non-stop routes including Vancouver, Kitchener-Waterloo andCharlottetown to Orlando; Calgary to Fort Lauderdale and Liberia, Costa Rica; and Toronto and Halifax to Boston.
