G20 summit organizers have put out requests for ramped-up security and equipment for the June meeting of world leaders.

Here’s what has been requested so far, according to public contract tenders:

  • As many as 10,000 uniformed officers (by comparison, Vancouver’s 2010 Olympics had 6,000)
  • 1,000 private security guards equipped with Magnetometers, walk-through metal detectors, X-Ray belt driven scanners and hand-held metal detectors
  • Dozens of buses
  • Secure two-way radios
  • On-site printing and shredding
  • A variety of communication and interpretation systems
