With the recent upgrade of the Spa at Whiteface Lodge, Lake Placid, N.Y. now has its first true resort spa.
The rustically luxurious, all-suite Whiteface Lodge, located in the Adirondack Mountains close to the alpine village of Lake Placid, now offers fitness and meditation classes, day packages, a full menu of skin and body treatments, a hair salon and nail suite, plus a new Spa Café serving health-conscious, spa-inspired cuisine that is low in fat, sugars and salt.
In addition to the spa, the property includes 94 suites, a three-storey great room, a fine dining restaurant, a lounge, a health and fitness centre, an indoor/outdoor swimming pool and hot tubs, plus a 56-seat surround sound movie theatre.
The resort also offers about 9,000 square feet of rustic lux meeting space including a 3,100 square foot, three-season terrace accommodating up to 200 for a reception, and two uniquely hand-crafted lean-tos that can be used for cocktails and hors d-oeuvres.
