Innovative UK hotel chain YOTEL enters the North American market with New York property.
UK hotel chain YOTEL will introduce its brand to North America in June 2011, with the opening of YOTEL New York. The hotel, located on West 42nd Street and 10th Avenue at Times Square West, will feature 669 guestrooms, and is reportedly the largest hotel opening in New York in 2011.
The hotel adopts an airline feel, as guests check in at airline style kiosks and guestrooms are called cabins.
The brand is known for its forward-thinking approach, including the Yobot, a robot designed to store left luggage; and motorized beds that move to save space. Cabin rooms are small at less than 200 sq. ft., but offer luxury amenities including a monsoon shower, technowall with TV, music and power services and workstation.
Eighteen first-class cabins and three VIP two-cabin suites, come with private outdoor terraces and hot tubs.
YOTEL New York features 18,000 sq. ft. of flexible work and entertainment space, including the Japanese restaurant, Doyho; Club Lounge, with individual Club Cabins for meetings and private parties; Studiyo, for meetings, yoga and events; and the Terrace, New York’s largest outdoor hotel space.
